At the Sovereign Nations Conference in Washington DC, Nick Adams, Founder and Executive Director of the Foundation for Liberty and American Greatness (FLAG), explains why he legally immigrated to the United States, and why he believes in American exceptionalism.
Adams, a best-selling author and prominent speaker, is best known for his work promoting American exceptionalism and the Constitution. Adams is a frequent contributor to several media organizations, including Fox News. In 2005, he was elected as the youngest deputy mayor in Australia, a record he still holds to this day.
A native Australian, Adams came to the US, he says, because we need someone with a perspective from outside the country looking in to remind us how great we are. He begins with a point useful to any speaker wanting to move a citizenry: the country is in danger. America, he says, is in decline and something has to be done about it. “If America abandons its Biblical roots,” he says, “it will lose all the attending benefits of Christian civilization, such as law, absolute moral standards, a sound economy, a limited government and any vestige of liberty it still maintains.” The United States is the greatest of countries but is not living up to its potential. Why is it the greatest of countries? Because “America is an instrument of God.” America, he says, exists to serve “a providential purpose.” Adams explains that, although America is in decline, God has blessed America. America is the last bastion of hope for man, and it’s time for us to ring the bell of liberty. “In these dark hours,” states Adams, “America is the envy of the world.” According to Adams, America is the greatest good in the world, and what is good for America is good for the world.
In his speech, Adams goes on to explain the major political, social, and economic differences between his home country and the United States. He gives his views on several current issues, and offers solutions to many of the problems that currently plague America and the rest of the world. Adams believes that America is the still the most free and prosperous nation, and does not hold back in strongly asserting and supporting this claim.
