Judicial Watch just launched a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Agency for International Development, USAID, for records related to taxpayer funding of George Soros-tied political activities.

Go, Judicial Watch.

Specifically, the watchdog group wants to know how many tax dollars have been sent to the Open Society Foundations’ Albania offices, or FOSA.
Judicial Watch has filed a Freedom of Information Act request to gain access to pertinent documents.

The FOIA suit comes on the heels of a letter six Republican senators sent to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson sent in mid-March requesting an inquiry into State Department and USAID funding of political groups — particularly of those political groups that leaned left and were targeting Macedonia and Albania to spread influence.
The letter, in part, read: “Much of the concerning activity in Macedonia has been perpetuated through USAID funds awarded to implement in entities such as George Soros’ Open Society Foundations. As the recipient of multiple grant awards and serving as a USAID contractor implementing projects in this small nation of 2.1 million people, our taxpayer funded foreign aid goes far, allowing Foundation Open Society-Macedonia (FOSM) to push a progressive agenda and invigorate the political left … This problem is not limited to Macedonia, but appears to follow a pattern of alarming activity in this volatile region.”
