Postmodern thought has now made inroads into what until very recently were conservative, Biblical Christian circles, all with the smiling face of “social justice.” The rapidity with which these deadly ideas have spread from the culture at large into churches and Christian organizations is truly shocking – all with an ever-present progressive political undertone that has become noticeable as the movement has gained steam.

While the most influential French postmodernists, Derrida and Foucault, will not be immediately familiar to many citizens of western culture, their collective concepts have wreaked havoc amongst the socio-political and educational landscape in North America over the past decade.  As our secular educational institutions have become battlegrounds to “tear down the patriarchy” and to “root out white privilege,” this same battle has emerged within the most conservative of strongholds of the Christian church catching many congregants and seminarians unaware.

With this in mind, Sovereign Nations held its third purposed event titled “Social Justice & The Gospel: The God-breathed Hierarchy and the Postmodern Crisis within the Church.” It is our hope that these assembled scholars will help to elucidate the primary issues and concerns of this dangerous movement.

All of the conference materials are free for viewing below.

Defining Social Justice

Dr. Voddie Baucham

Dr. Voddie Baucham brings our first detailed message by defining what “social justice” is by the definitions provided by the adherents of the movement. Dr. Baucham then provides a polemic from an orthodox Christian understanding of justice.

Virtue Signaling: The New Evangelistic Strategy

Phil Johnson

Virtue signaling is the practice of trying to put one’s own moral superiority on display by saying or doing something that has no real practical benefit other than to announce agreement with the most stylish opinion of whatever happens to be trending at the moment. Listen as Phil Johnson of Grace to You examines this aberrant micro-reflexive practice amongst the new ‘woke’ evangelicals.

White Privilege: The New Original Sin

Dr. Thomas Ascol

The concept of “white privilege” has embedded itself within nearly every stratum of our culture in the United States, championed by progressives and those that are seeking to deconstruct our current narratives and historical hierarchies.  As the church has become the purposed focus of those seeking to balkanize the church, it should not be a surprise that this pernicious concept has been used as a divisive tool to divide the church. Listen as Dr. Thomas Ascol of Founders Ministries examines the origins and effects of the foreign importation of “white privilege” in the body of Christ.

My wife and I have been so blessed to see how all of you men have not compromised but lovingly and with a firm stand and backed by scripture explained the core goals of this movement. And where it is has come from, also who it intends to target. Thank you all for your steadfast, Biblical, and sound response to this movement. God bless

My fav session was probably Dr. Buice but all of the sessions and especially the panel session were excellent. Thank you for providing this for free and putting your reputations and platforms on the line as we fight to guard the Gospel.

Superb. Watched every one of them. At least one gold nugget in each. More in some. I’m neither Calvinist nor Reformed in the sense of the men on the stage but their insight, Biblical truths, and understanding of the topic at hand were just superb and truly refreshing. I won’t comment on each but will just say the panel discussion was a joy and I was glad that the comments of Sam Allberry were read because I was not aware of them. Nor the “Living Out” group/organization. I have watched and respected much of what Sam has said but Tom is right. Spot on in saying that is absolutely heretical. I have shared them all and will be recommending my pastor/elders watch them. Thank you!

Refreshing! Thank you so much for this. I hardly ever watch preachers anymore but I couldn’t stop watching this. Excellent job from every speaker! I got Voddie’s sermon out to my pastors as soon as I could. Great intro to the subject. I have been wanting to breach this subject for some time now, and by God’s providence; there was this conference and it was on Youtube!

I truly enjoy the content on this website. A robust and mature Christian faith is sorely needed in our land. Keep up the great work with this online ministry. Amerika needs a revival and reformation before we lose this great gift God has given us by His providence. Sounding the alarm in Brooklyn New York.

“Warning for Amerika!” Those Crazy Corinthians! Part 6
    1) God will illustrate the power of the Gospel by enlarging His
kingdom. He will glorify himself by not using the World’s power
    structure. (1 Corinthians 1:26-29)
    2) The World uses its power structure to glorify Mankind and the
Antichrist. The nation whose foundation is not the law of Jesus Christ
will always suffer sudden destruction. (1 Corinthians 1:26; Revelation 18:1-13)
    3) God will glorify himself even if it brings judgment on his own
people. Those who want to be called by His name will be held accountable.
The Whore Church always aligns herself with the World power structure
instead of Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 1:27,28; Jeremiah 7:1-11; Matthew 21:1-16)
    4) Christians must always rejoice in a knowledge of God and not the
    culture.(Jeremiah 9:23,24)

I am so grateful for the truths in these messages. One thing I’m curious about: if social justice is defined as an oppressed minority group, then Christians belong in that group. We are entitled victim membership status. Therefore, social justice groups must support us as one of them and be our allies. Therefore, since we are a victimized minority that demands equal status, our messages of God’s redemption and salvation are required to be heard by all peoples for equitable distribution of access to the saving Word of God. If we play the game according to their rules … and you know what they will do: exclude/ostracize us … how can they justify that exclusion using their own logic?
