Five hundred years have passed since Martin Luther posted the 95 Theses to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg. How has the challenge of proclaiming God’s sovereign grace changed in that half millennium?  Why is it harder today to catch the ears of the man in the street than it was in Luther’s day?

Preached from the high pulpit of the Castle Church itself, James R. White addresses the need to proclaim the gospel with urgency and cogency in the modern day. Drawing on events in Luther’s life, some of which took place in that very room, White challenges the foundational assumptions of the secular age and calls Christians to a faithful proclamation of the gospel, trusting the same God who brought light out of darkness in Wittenberg to do so again in secular Europe and America as well.

Dr. James R. White is the director of Alpha and Omega Ministries, a Christian apologetics organization based in Phoenix, Arizona.  He is the author of more than twenty books, a professor, an accomplished debater, and an elder of the Phoenix Reformed Baptist Church. This video was captured during Dr. White’s Reformation Tour with Sovereign Experiences.

Wathcing this video during August 2023 shows how prescient Dr. James White was at that time. And, how important the knowledge of church
    history is.
